Welcome to St Mary’s, the third oldest Anglican Parish in South Australia.
We value the word of Scripture, the privilege of prayer and the sanctity of the Holy Sacraments.
- We recognise the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains.
- We express our gratitude in the sharing of this land;
- Our sorrow for the personal, spiritual and cultural costs of that sharing; and
- Our hope that we may walk together in harmony in the spirit of reconciliation.
Our Mission Statement “To share living water with those who thirst” and our Mission Plan: “To facilitate the leading of the Holy Spirit through prayer, creative thinking, ingenuity, energetic action and the appropriation of resources” are foremost in parish life.
A prayer to use during this difficult time is suggested by the Archbishop.
Almighty and All–loving God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we pray to you through Christ the Healer
for those who suffer from the Coronavirus Covid–19
in Australia and across the world.
We pray too for all who reach out to those who mourn the loss
of each and every person who has died as a result of contracting the disease.
Give wisdom to policymakers,
skill to healthcare professionals and researchers,
comfort to everyone in distress
and a sense of calm to us all in these days of uncertainty and distress.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord
who showed compassion to the outcast,
acceptance to the rejected
and love to those to whom no love was shown.
– Archbishop Michael Jackson, Dublin & Glendalough
Visitors are made to feel welcome and the invitation to join the parish family is always open to one and all.
The parish welcome extends beyond worship and into community involvement through our outreach programs of The Picket Fence Community Centre (presently closed), the Urban Farm and The Project Centre.
